So, I am always trying to make waffles, pancakes, mini cakes, and other fun recipes into healthy alternatives. Not only is this recipe extremely healthy, but it is fluffy in the inside with a crunchier exterior, extremely similar to your ‘normal’ waffle…who needs waffles made out of bleached white flour when you have these babies!
I am also doing a cleanse this month and this recipe is totally cleanse friendly, which is a major plus! I have tried this recipe with my beloved arbonne vegan protein powder and was SO happy that it worked! I have also used it with go gnarly whey protein powder, so it works for both vegan protein powders and whey protein powders! You may have to make adjustments based on your specific protein powder, but it should be pretty close to perfection like this!
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup egg whites
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1/4 cup gluten free organic oats
- 1 scoop protein powder
- 1/2 tbsp coconut flour (this is necessary for the whey protein, but when using the arbonne protein it can go with or without)
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tbsp stevia
Directions:
- Simply blend all ingredients together and pour into your waffle maker…that EASY!
- Top with some berries, protein fluff, almond butter, coconut nectar, honey, or whatever you desire! I pureed raspberries with protein powder and thinned out some almond butter with almond milk to top it with!
