Making your own trail mix is a great way to reduce waste from containers and is also much healthier and cheaper! Thus, sustainable for your pockets and the environment.
One of the best things about making your own trail mix is that you are able to have complete control over the ingredients. Some trail mixes have fruits that are laden with sugar, chocolates with questionable ingredients, and other unnecessary ingredients.
This recipe uses all healthy ingredients that are hand picked to give you a wide variety of vitamins, minerals, and array of healthy fats. Having a wide variety of healthy fats in your diet from multiple sources is very important, just as eating a wide variety of fruits and vegetables is important for diversifying your vitamin and mineral consumption.
To further reducing your waste, you can purchase your ingredients in bulk and use your own reusable bags/ containers to purchase these.
