You guys know I am obsessed with all of the powerful properties of lemons and can read more about that here. I’m obsessed with starting my morning with a warm cup of lemon water to give me a mild detox and get my bowels moving first thing in the morning. It is also AMAZING in SO many recipes and dishes. Lemon becomes alkaline in your body, detoxes you, gives you a massive dose of Vitamin C and basically makes you a superwoman…or man.
Lemon Ginger Miso Dressing Ingredient Spotlight:
Fermented foods are something I will also talk about all the time…and miso is one of them. Miso contains soy, but it is fermented, which means it is pre-digested and easy for your body to digest and absorb. By fermenting the soy, the proteins become available to our body, which is not the case for normal soy products. Fermentation also puts beneficial enzymes and probiotics into our food, so our bellies can be super happy!
Most of us know how great ginger is for nausea because it is one of the oldest and most popular medicinal spices. It is also great for promoting digestion, neutralizing toxins, cleansing and detoxifying the skin and body, plus so much more.
I added tahini to give the dressing some fats to help your body absorb the nutrients in salads more easily because of the high amount of fat soluble vitamins. Tahini also offers protein, high Vitamin E content, and even antioxidant effects. Tahini also makes a pretty damn good dressing on its own or mixed with nutritional yeast.
- 6 T miso
- ½ cup lemon juice
- ½ cup water
- 2 T tahini
- 2 inches of ginger
- Juice your lemons.
- Then, simply blend all ingredients together.
- Place in a mason jar or re-use any glass jar that you have around!
