It’s that time of year you guys! Yes, pumpkin spice season, but also treat and candy season. We have just entered October and the Halloween candy is already rolling in! Most store bought candy is loaded with shit ingredients and spikes your blood sugar. That’s why I created this recipe for sweet and salty Chocolate Chip Energy Balls!
These babes are loaded with fiber, healthy fats, protein, and amazing flavor! All of this adds up to a blood sugar balancing treat that won’t leave you feeling like shit after you eat it!
You guys know that I am all about BALANCE! So, if someone brings in your all time favorite candy, I say go for it, just make sure you’re eating blood sugar balancing meals so you won’t continue craving. Just don’t go overboard with all the candy around you. Make the decision to eat it if you want to and enjoy it. I find that the main reason people get out of control with treats is that they feel guilt, which takes away the enjoyment, so you keep eating it to try to fill that void.
Anyways, I could go on and on about that, but I should get to this recipe! You are going to love how simple this is! It’s perfect as a dessert, snack, and great for kids too!
- 1 cup oats
- 1 cup coconut flakes
- ¼ cup flax seeds
- ¼ cup sunbutter (or peanut butter)
- 2-3 dates (soaked in water)
- 1-2 T water (from soaked dates)
- 2 T mini chocolate chips
- In a food processor, process all ingredients except for the chocolate chips!
- Once ingredients are sticky, add in chocolate chips, and pulse until combined!
I know you guys are going to absolutely love this recipe, so I hope you make them and share! You may also love these Oatmeal Raisin Protein Bites!
