Paleo Apple Crumble
 
 
Ingredients
  • CRUST
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup coconut flour
  • ¼ cup arrowroot starch
  • ½ cup butter
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp salt
  • FILLING
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 2 tbsp gelatin
  • ½ tbsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ginger
  • 2 thumb sizes fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 apples
  • ghee
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Mix all crust ingredients together, then set aside ¼ cup of it.
  3. Press into a 10X10 pan and bake for 10 minutes.
  4. While the crust is baking, heat water and applesauce together until it is almost boiling.
  5. While waiting for the water mixture to heat, chop ½ of an apple into thin 1 inch slices, and sauté with ginger in a little ghee.
  6. Once the water mixture is ready, stir in collagen, spices, and apples.
  7. Once the crust is done, pour the filling mixture onto it.
  8. Next is the fun part! Cut your apple in half and use the half of the one leftover. Steam the apple halves for a few minutes,then cut into super thin slices and separate it like you are going to form an apple rose. (Check youtube for video how-to's!)
  9. Place the apples onto the top of the filling.
  10. Next, sprinkle with the leftover crust mixture. You may want to add more ghee to make it stickier.
  11. Finally, sprinkle with cinnamon and place in the fridge to set!
