I basically long for warm days the second it starts to get cold, so I have been appreciating the gorgeous long spring days we are having. Sunshine, mountain hikes, and…quarantine! Yes please? A lot of people think of spring cleaning when they think of spring, but it is for more than just your closet! It is also an amazing time to practice some extra detoxification.
I am the first to admit that detoxing is about as fun as eating dirt, so that’s why I recommend incorporating daily detoxification tips. A weeklong juice cleanse or intense diets for detoxification are challenging on the body and sometimes do more harm than good.

A detox tea is one of the easiest ways to incorporate daily detox. I try and drink this tea 4 to 5 times a week throughout my days to stimulate detoxing in the body, to give my body necessary vitamins and minerals, and lasting energy.
I also love to use herbs and teas to continually and daily boost my immunity. This is extra important right now, so I figured I would also include a recipe that I have been consuming regularly as we face the current corona virus.
I prefer to make my own teas and use a tea strainer or french press because it is cheaper and also better for you. Many tea bags contain micro plastics, ew… and again, save some money! You can find a local store that sells bulk herbs or order online! I love Mountain Rose Herbs for online!

Detox Tea
Ingredients
1.5 parts dandelion leaf
1 part dandelion root
1/2 part ginger root
1/2 part fennel
1/4 part licorice
Instructions
Combine all of the above dried herbs together.
To make a potent infusion:
Use roughly 3 to 4 tbsp. in a quart sized mason jar.
Cover with water that has been brought to a boil.
Top jar with lid and let sit at least 8 hours ( Doing this the night before and then letting sit overnight is the easiest way).
Strain herb out and enjoy your tea throughout the day!
Remember to drink plenty of water too. Water flushes everything out that this tea encourages your organs to release.
