This recipe is one that I am SUPER proud of. I don’t always post savory recipes, but when I do, you know they are DAMN good. This Cycle Syncing Cheesy Taco Soup is just that, DAMN GOOD.

While most of my meals are pretty simple, this one has a little more flair, but still minimal ingredients. It’s one of those grounding and nourishing recipes that is pretty simple to make, but not your typical protein and veggies!
This soup is loaded with good for you ingredients and tastes like a cheesy delicious explosion! I want to highlight the main ingredients and why this soup is perfect for the luteal phase of your cycle!

The luteal phase of your cycle is from ovulation to menstruation and it correlates with the fall season. Your energy may be starting to wane, you want to do less intense exercise, and you may be craving more grounding foods. This is an important time to honor your body and slow down and it is a great time to nourish your body with specific nutrients.

I have talked about seed cycling quite a bit on this blog as well as my social media pages. During the luteal phase, when following seed cycling, you would consume sunflower seeds and sesame seeds. This recipe is loaded with sesame seeds in the form of tahini, which is the base for this cheesy soup. Sesame seeds are great for this phase because they contain high levels of zinc, which may help promote progesterone production. Progesterone is is important in this phase of your cycle!
I also like to build up iron and b vitamins during this phase because during menstruation you are losing both of these nutrients. I specifically use Force of Nature Meats Ancestral Blends to make this recipe because they contain organ meats. Organ meats are an incredible source of B vitamins, which are great for times of stress (menstruation is a stressor on the body!) and can help boost your energy. Plus the iron in the beef/bison and organ meats will prepare your for bleeding. If you want more info on the benefits of organ meats, I recommend this article. Now let’s get on to this delicious recipe!

Cycle Syncing Cheesy Taco Soup!

1 pound ancestral blend (beef or bison) from Force of Nature Meats
1/2 onion, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tomato, chopped
1 head romaine, chopped
2 cups steamed carrots
2 cups water or broth
1/2 cup tahini
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
1 T mexican seasoning
1 t sea salt (to taste)
Instructions
Steam carrots
Blend steamed carrots, tahini, water, nutritional yeast, mexican seasoning, and salt.
Heat up a pan and cook onions/ garlic until translucent, then add the beef and brown. Season with salt and pepper.
Pour in ‘cheese’ mixture and allow it to heat up.
Turn down heat and then add in tomato and romaine. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
You can cook this for longer, but I prefer the romaine crunchy!
Enjoy!
