Happy Thanksgiving party people! We al have so much to be thankful for, even in the midst of terrible things that may be happening around the world. Use today to change your perspective and really focus on the good that’s happening; the people in your life, the companies that are striving for better, the heroes, and all of the little intricacies in between. Today, I am thankful to have the ability to travel across the country to see family that I haven’t seen in years and to spend a few days in close proximity to them all…and i mean CLOSE.
As we head out of Thanksgiving, we all start getting Christmas on our minds, especially with the craziness of Black Friday staring us in the face. While I think this is still time to spend with your family, I figured it was also a great time to show you all a list of gifts that I would love and I am sure your fellow foodie and holistic advocate would also be excited about! So onto the post….
Trying to figure out what you want to put on your Christmas list this year? Or, maybe you are trying to figure out what to get for the people you love? Well, I have put together a list of some super exciting things that I have on my Christmas list, plus some things I am already obsessed with!
The Grasslamp…I’m completely obsessed. Not only is this a gorgeous display for your home, but it is also growing food! And, not just any food! You are able to grow wheatgrass and micro greens that are loaded with nutrients!
Kraut Source is an amazing way to bring fermented foods into your own home! Many people are overwhelmed or nervous by the undertaking of fermenting, but Kraut Source makes it super easy! Plus, fermenting your own veggies is SO much cheaper than buying them, so this is a great investment. Also, a Bauman grad created this, which makes me extra happy (this is the Holistic Nutrition school I attend)!
A few books that are on my list:
Healing Myths, Healing Magic: Breaking the Spell of Old Illusions; Reclaiming Our Power to Heal by Donald Epstein (You can literally get this for $0.25 on amazon!
There are so many great books out there, but another that I have that I think is a MUST is Becoming a Supple Leopard by Kelly Starrett
And on the note of a book that is all about mobility and getting your body to be as supple as possible, I have to say that I am obsessed with all of the Triggerpoint Therapy products. I already own their foam roller, which I love for the firmness, but also because it is hollow, which makes it perfect for packing and taking along with you as you travel! The quad baller and foot baller are also amazing. I just tried them out the other day, so they have made it to the top of my list! You can also get a lacrosse and tennis ball to get some of these benefits for cheaper.A chefs knife… having an amazing set of knives will change anyones confidence in the kitchen and make it SO much easier to prepare meals quickly. TRUST ME. I love my chefs knife, it’s the 9″ and it’s not too terribly expensive, so I definitely recommend it.
SPICES! Any high quality spices will do, but my friends mom is killing it with these Glory Kitchen spices. These are not your average spices, they are actually nut and spice blends and have tremendous flavors that make healthy meals super simple! Also, one of my top tips is to use more herbs and spices because they are booster foods that add nutrients to your food!
Gifts that keep on giving!
A yearly subscription to Thrive is an awesome gift because savings occur every time you shop! Plus, the yearly subscription cost goes to sponsor a family in need!
ClassPass…this has seriously been a game changer for me. I love working out and don’t have a problem with motivation. The issue for me is the cost of pilates, yoga, cycling, boxing, and all of the other things I love to do all combined. It’s hard to be able to afford a diverse mix of workouts because they can be pricey! Luckily, ClassPass allows users to do all of this for on monthly price.
A diffuser! I have diffusers throughout my home and I am absolutely obsessed with them. Not only does diffusing essential oils make your home smell amazing, it also has health benefits. I love this beautiful diffuser and it isn’t at a terrible price point!
Activewear…we all love new clothing and activewear, but it’s not necessarily the most sustainable gift… Luckily, there are brands that keep sustainability in mind! I wanted to outline a few great brands that focus on consciousness and bringing high quality products to the consumer that LAST, so you don’t have to go through resources so quickly.
Cotopaxi (I am obsessed with the fanny pack above!)
There are so many more great gifts, but these are currently on my radar. Comment below with some of your favorite gift ideas for the season!
