Blair Horton: Founder
I am a little sassy, sarcastic, environment obsessed, and I have a huge passion for helping other people, especially when it comes to health.
My chubby childhood and love for sports led me to an interest in health, fitness, nutrition, and weight loss at a young age, but my bookworm tendencies drove it home. I fell in love with research on nutrition and how our food choices and habits affect our environment. I eventually found myself loving the raw food diet principles and I became a Certified Nutrition Educator at the Living Foods Institute of Atlanta, Georgia in 2010. Since, I have completed my undergraduate degree in Nutrition at North Carolina State University, became a certified Natural Chef, and a Holistic Nutrition Consultant through Bauman College. I am currently studying functional medicine with Living Love Mindfulness Medicine and working on my NASM personal training certification.
Along the way my diet philosophies have changed, but one thing remains true. I truly believe in the powers of food as medicine, but I think there is so much more to the story. I don’t follow a specific ‘diet’ limiting any foods and I don’t restrict myself to one way of life. I do eat and shop for foods consciously and with purpose. I do stay active with yoga, pilates, biking, running/walking, and I love to lift heavy weights like a boss. I like being strong in mind, body, and spirit. And, most importantly, I like sharing my lifestyle with others because as we change ourselves, we also change the world around us.

I’m a passionate 23-year-old who is determined to live life to the fullest, and help others do the same! I have had an insatiable desire to work with underserved populations for as long as I can remember. What began as a love for volunteering locally, soon developed into a devotion to finding opportunities to help empower individuals to make changes they would like to see in their communities. In catalyzing progress, these visionaries would not only better their own lives, but also the lives of those around them. I discovered a particular love for international service (and bucket showers) my freshmen year at NC State University, and have had the itch to continue traveling and experiencing different cultures ever since.
I have a BS in Biological Sciences, with a concentration on human biology, as well as minors in Health and Psychology. As expected, I am especially interested in addressing health obstacles, with a holistic perspective, and through people-focused and sustainable work. I believe that many resolutions to public health challenges lie in empowerment through education. I intend to pursue a Master of Public Health degree, as well as continue to hone my knowledge of, and hands-on experience with, nonprofit development.
Outside of all of that, I love to be outside, barefoot, and in touch with nature. I love trees. I believe that we are all connected, and have a set path and purpose within the Universe. I enjoy dancing like no one is watching…even when people are. Overall, I am excited to continue to develop this business, and begin a new chapter in my life. I hope to reach as many people as possible, and to accomplish a shared vision of equal access to happiness, good health, and opportunity for all! I am looking forward to learning and growing with all of you!

I am a spunky and caring 22-year-old who has always danced to the beat of my own drum, (or whoever’s drum circle I am near) ;)! Growing up in Buffalo, NY I never fell into the norm of chicken wings and pizza. Instead, I became a bit food obsessed at a young age. After trying a myriad of dietary choices, I eventually fell into an extreme eating disorder and lost touch with our fuel for life; food.
After following my heart and seeing a consultant, I healed my own relationship with food and realized I want to help others find the same peace and love for life that I have renewed. I want to help people understand the importance of food and nutrition and see food as a life force, not an enemy. I have completed two 200-hour yoga certifications which led me to help build a school in Kenya with the Africa Yoga Project in 2012. I am now living in beautiful Boulder, CO, studying to become a Holistic Nutrition Consultant at Bauman College and working for a local water kefir company.
My biggest passion, besides my baby ferments, is empowering young women just like me. I want to encourage girls to love and honor themselves through proper nutrition, stress relief, and finding their passion. I plan on teaching after school programs focused on whole body health with an emphasis on yoga that opens our hearts and minds to our truest and highest potential.
When I’m not fermenting things, which is most of the time these days, I love going on hikes with my pup, climbing, crafting, or spontaneously running down the street in a rainstorm. I feel very excited to be a part of the Holistic Rendezvous community and will certainly keep you up to date on all things fermented while providing you with a little of my gemini sass!

I am a creative spirit who loves a great adventure, dancing to some groovy beats, and loving as openly and abundantly as I possibly can. I have come to find my true happiness in exploring natural and holistic ways of living and sharing that with the world. My journey started at Metropolitan State University in Denver, CO where I graduated in 2014 with a BA in Integrative Therapeutic Practices. There I was opened up to several different ways of healing the mind, body, and soul. I grew increasingly interested in yoga and the strength it brought my body and the serenity it brought my mind. I then decided to get my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate from Samahdi Center for Yoga in Denver, CO. My most recent accomplishment is having completed my training to become a certified herbalist at Moondance Botanicals. The most important lesson I have learned through my training this far is that by taking care of our WHOLE selves, we allow for our body to become free of blocks and unnecessary weight that we carry so that we can we can rise to our most true and authentic version of who we are.
I have begun to find my own truth in fueling my body with a nutritious and love-filled diet. I make the time to move my body each day whether that be yoga, hiking, or hula hooping in the park. And I wouldn’t be the person I am without all of the beautiful herbal allies in my life who provide me with healing and optimal nourishment. My hopes are to share my experiences, recipes, and thoughts with you all so that you can start living the kick-ass life you were meant to live!
